Press Release

Gulfstream Training Academy (GTA) and Airline Transport Professionals (ATP) Two of the Most Prominent Flight Schools in the Country Have Joined Forces to Create the Best Professional Pilot Program in the USA

GTA and ATP, are launching the “Professional Pilot Program” across the United States, offering a unique combination of the Initial Flight Training that ATP offers and the First Officer Program that GTA offers at a very affordable price. This joint effort will give students wanting to be Airline Pilots the Fastest and Most Advanced Training needed to become Airline Pilots in lieu of the Pilot shortage coming around the Horizon.

Fort Lauderdale, FL – February 06, 2009 - Gulfstream Training Academy (www.GulfstreamAcademy.com) is owned by Gulfstream Int’l Airlines (www.GulfstreamAir.com), which operates as Continental Connection. “The Academy has set precedence in the training industry and the results have shown with the success that our graduates have had in the regional and major airlines they are now flying with over the past 16 years. “We feel very proud to be associated with ATP”, said Dave Hackett, CEO of Continental Connection and Gulfstream Training Academy.

Based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Gulfstream Training Academy has been supplying the airlines industry with over 1700 capable pilots for the past sixteen years. They will take students from zero hours to the right seat of a Beechcraft 1900D in eight to ten months. It is no longer a surprise or a secret in the industry about the highly standardized training Gulfstream Training Academy offers its students and the success rate the students are showing at the Regional Jet Level.

“Our pilots have shown and are proving every day that we are saving the airlines between 20-40% of their training costs from the pilots they hire form here. Our pilots are not washing out.” Said Bobby Pinto, VP of Recruiting for Gulfstream Training Academy.

Students will first go to ATP (www.ALLATPS.com) to get their initial student pilot ratings before they come to GTA (which is a requirement before entering the First Officer Program). ATP is regarded as the Most Respected Name in Pilot Certification. They are the Largest Flight School in the Nation with over 20 Training centers located all over the US. “We feel that with ATP providing quality training for the initial ratings and GTA then taking them to the next level through our First Officer Program it is a win-win situation for the student pilot of reaching their goal of becoming an Airline Pilot and a win-win situation for the Airlines by hiring the highest qualified pilots out there.” Said Bobby Pinto.

In spite of the downturn in the Airline industry and economy, the Airlines will be required to hire pilots due to attrition from retirements. “Last year the government raised the retirement age from 60 to 65 to slow this attrition down but they did not stop the bleeding they just put a band-aid on it, because not in 4 to 5 years but in 2 to 3 years all these pilots are continuing to retire.” Said Bobby Pinto. The number of military-trained pilots who used to fill these positions has been significantly reduced. These pilot positions will now be filled by civilian-trained pilots. The difference in this training compared to other programs is that when these pilots finish they will have actual Airline training and experience on a real Airline which no one else in the country can provide. They will have a total of over 500hrs with over 250hrs of Actual Turbine/Part 121 Time.

Together Gulfstream Training Academy and Airline Transport Professionals bring over 35 years of experience in the Training and Airline industries and are committed to prepare future Airline pilots for the demanding yet rewarding career. “If there ever was a time to become a pilot it is now. Once these Airlines start hiring and you decide now is a time to become a pilot…it’s too late. You need to get in now so that by the time you are qualified you will be right there ready to get hired.” Said Bobby Pinto
